SARASOTA -- Batter up!

Baseball fans don't have to wait until spring training to reconnect with the national pastime. Two exhibits celebrating baseball and its links to American culture are about to open in the area.

"Sarasota County's Baseball History," an exhibit exploring the ties between Sarasota and the teams that have trained in the city, opens Saturday at the Sarasota County History Center.

"The New York Yankees and the American Dream," a collection of paintings, photographs, sculpture and memorabilia, opens Sunday at the Tampa Museum of Art.
