Aastra Technologies Limited to Acquire EADS Enterprise Telephony Business.(Brief Article)
Following the earlier announcement about negotiations, Aastra Technologies Limited has now agreed to acquire the European Aeronautic Defense and Space (EADS) Enterprise Telephony Business. EADS Enterprise Telephony Business (or EADS Telecom) is a supplier of turnkey telecommunications networks for public safety, federal and enterprise markets and is a division of EADS, a global leader in aerospace, defense and related services. The EADS Enterprise Telephony Business employs over 700 people in Western Europe and the United States. Through the acquisition, Aastra will expand its presence in the enterprise telephony market, specifically in the small to medium business market and the larger enterprise and call center segment. The transaction is expected to be final in the first quarter of 2005.
