Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company announces the new KX-TA824 Advanced Hybrid System, a low-cost, modular PBX system for home and small businesses. Available in the second quarter of 2005, the basic system will support three outside lines and eight stations and can expand to eight outside lines and 24 stations using two additional boards. The system will support Panasonic KX-T7700 series proprietary telephones, as well as single line devices, fax machines or modems.
KX-TA824 is based on Panasonic's earlier KX-TA624 phone system, but adds several new options, including an interface to Central Office (CO)-based voicemail services or an optional 2-port, plug-in messaging card with 60 minutes of recording time. In addition, KX-TA824 can connect to the Panasonic KX-TVS50 Voice Processing System for more features. A new optional Analog Caller ID card passes Caller ID to single-line telephones or fax machines.
