SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County medical examiner said Wednesday he is waiting on toxicology reports to determine why an intruder died after struggling with a 79-year- old man.
George T. Jackson, 24, died Tuesday morning after breaking into a northeast Sarasota home. Henrietta McCormick, 82, called police and screamed for her brother as Jackson crawled through her window.
Julian Scott grabbed a gun and ran to his sister's aid. He struggled with Jackson, a city resident with a lengthy criminal record. Scott bettered the younger man in a struggle for the gun and then hit him in the head. …
