Motorcyclists crash after dirt is dumped
EL JOBEAN -- An eastbound dump truck tossed a partial load of dirt and manure onto the Myakka River Bridge, causing several motorcyclists to crash and tying up traffic for hours Wednesday, authorities said.
One of the motorcyclists was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers in stable condition, according to Charlotte County Fire & EMS. He injured an ankle and fractured his shoulder. He was wearing a helmet.
The other drivers suffered bumps and bruises.
