Questions for FEMA; Venice city manager deserves to know plans for trailer park.(A SECTION)(Editorial)

Venice City Manager Marty Black wants to know how long the Federal Emergency Management Agency is going to keep families living in camping trailers at the Stay-N-Play RV Park.

For the sake of those 134 families, we hope that federal officials can provide Black with some insight at a meeting scheduled for this morning.

Since Hurricane Charley destroyed their homes five months ago, the families have lived in small trailers at the campground on Knights Trail Road in Venice.

In that time, FEMA has moved more than 100 other families from the recreational-vehicle park to more substantial housing, says agency spokeswoman Mary Hudak.
