Jan. 20--Concerned that zoning guidelines have been unevenly applied in recent years, Cherokee County Commissioner Harry Johnston has drawn up an interim land use plan to impose some order.

The proposal won unanimous, if tentative, approval at the County Commission's Jan. 4 meeting, but a consulting firm that is working on an official comprehensive land use plan update for the county believes Johnston's effort is destined for trouble.
