Chrysler spiked the year-old ME Four-Twelve supercar project during the Los Angeles show press preview, declaring it had learned much from the prototype program but couldn't make a business case to build it, only to reveal this more promising production prospect a few days later at Detroit.
Dubbed Firepower (which was once the working name for the 2004 concept ME Four-Twelve), the 2005 Detroit concept car is an Aston Martin-like two-seat coupe built on the Viper platform. The engine is a 6.1-liter 425-hp Hemi V8, like those found in the SRT-8 versions of the 300C and Dodge Magnum, but the engine bay is so long it would readily accept a V12.
