NUMBER ONE GREEN DAY AMERICAN IDIOT Reprise

Green Day's return to the UK album chart summit after an absence of 13 weeks was by a narrow margin--American Idiot sold 43,263 copies last week, just 311 more than the Scissor Sisters' self-titled album and 852 more than Maroon 5's Songs About Jane. Eminem--who led the first mid-week sales flashes--ended up in fourth place, with sales of 40,520.
