Songs made famous by a range of acts, from Queen, David Bowie and Joy Division to Will Young, Robbie Williams and The Streets are to fight it out for the Brits 25 Best Song award.
The longlist of 25 songs was announced on Monday (January 3) by Radio Two, in a show hosted by Davina McCall.
The songs will be the subject of a public vote over the next week, before a final Top Five are announced at next Monday's (January 10) nominations event at the Park Lane Hotel in London.
Listeners to Radio Two's Ken Bruce show will be able to hear the songs between Monday 17 January and Friday January 21, with voting open via web, text and telephone from January 21 to January 30.
The overall winning song will be announced at the 25th Brits at Earl's Court on Wednesday February 9, with the show be broadcast the following evening ...
