Having served as associate editor at the Journal's inception (when Dr. Arreed Barabasz was editor and founder) and editor for more than 30 years, effective with this issue, I will be retiring from the editorship of the Child Study Journal. This long association has been rewarding, frustrating, and illuminating. My sincere appreciation and thanks goes to all who have facilitated the rise of the Child Study Journal to important international stature. I specifically thank my wife, Susan DeTine Carter for her precise editorial proof reading and support, Dr. Joseph Moran, whose astute manuscript criticism has yielded a more professional product, and Glenda Leyonmark, as the editorial assistant who has kept the whole process flowing flawlessly. I thank the Consulting Editors for their tireless reviewing of countless manuscripts, which has produced the professional journal we have today. I thank Buffalo State College and the Educational Foundations Department for supporting the production of the Journal.
Finally, I thank Dr. P. Rudy Mattai the new Journal editor for continuing the tradition of the Journal but who will also establish his own new traditions. He has some exciting ideas for ...
