Jan. 12--The Texas Campaign for the Environment, which two years ago persuaded Dell and Hewlett-Packard to change its lax computer recycling efforts, now is going after Apple Computer.

The Austin-based group, working with other environmental advocates, contends that the iPod's creator does not do enough to take back the electronic waste it creates.

Tuesday, a group of 20 protested outside the Macworld Conference and Expo in San Francisco to demand that Apple CEO Steve Jobs take responsibility for toxic "iWaste" created by the company's obsolete electronic goods. Jobs gave the keynote speech at the convention.
