The MazdaSpeed 6 looks downright menacing from the front, but if I were going to unload $30K on a 3600-pound hunk of rolling steel, it would be for an Infiniti G35.

Mazda is definitely on the right track with the new 6, but at more than 3600 pounds, it seems to cater more to the luxo-cruiser crowd than the performance driver. It sounds like a great package, but removing the active handling and some weight would make it more attractive to the true enthusiast who needs a sedan.

The 6 is a step in the right direction for Mazda, but as the owner of two new Mazdas in the past five years, I would rather spend a bit more and get an Infiniti G35x or Subaru Legacy GT.
