Delta Air Lines Inc. has begun a $26 million expansion that will make Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport the airline's second largest hub for aircraft maintenance.
Doubling the size of its D/FW maintenance hangar, Delta expects the project to fulfill the airline's maintenance needs through the 1990s.
The facility now employs 359 workers performing light maintenance on Delta's jumbo jets. Officials would not release employment projections for the expanded operation.
