Jan. 8--The government has agreed with major content providers and mobile operators that a federation for Thailand's mobile marketing business should be set up to regulate mobile short message service (SMS) voting on television shows.

The initiative came about yesterday after talks involving major cellular operators, content providers and related state ministries, said Kraisorn Pornsuthee, the permanent secretary of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) ministry.
