Jan. 7--If Patong beach could be compared to a sexy red sports car, its northern neighbour, Kamala beach, would be a Suzuki Caribian.
And that's just the way locals like it. The short beach, with just seven beachfront bungalows, is frequented by an older, quieter crowd, a far cry from the flashy beer bars and discos of Patong.
Kamala, however, shares with Patong the unfortunate distinction of being the two hardest-hit beaches on Phuket, with each of the quaint bungalows suffering varying degrees of damage.
