"Tale Of 2 Candidates" (Editorial, Friday) is incorrect in stating that Bobby Jindal will be the first Indian American in Congress. He was preceded by Dalip Singh Saund, who was elected in 1956.

Regarding "American Generosity" (Editorial, Wednesday), someone should suggest to the United Nations' Jan Egeland that he save his breath, walk to Kofi Annan's office and ask the secretary-general to cough up a few billion from the collection plates also known as the U.N.'s oil-for-food scandal.
