Jan. 4--The Finance Ministry wants to set up a new holding company to manage proposals to invest up to 400 billion baht in new mass transit projects.
The new holding company would help expedite the projects and eliminate red tape, officials said, and would also take the lead in arranging financing for the new investments.
Only around 100 billion baht in funds are expected to come from the central budget, with the remainder in funds to be raised from the private sector, including through asset securitisation deals.
