Jan. 4--Asia Plus will strengthen its Internet trading platform and build up staff resources ahead of the launch of the new derivatives market this year.

President Pratib Yongvanich said the brokerage expected to be able to maintain its number two ranking in terms of market share this year.

"We believe that we can maintain a market share of around 9.5 percent, although we will still be number two after Kim Eng Securities," he said.

Currently, retail investors account for around 80 percent of Asia Plus's clients, with the remainder domestic and foreign institutional investors. Asia Plus was formed last year ...
