The Thai Rak Thai government has been a particularly strong supporter of small and medium-sized enterprises under its broader policy to strengthen rural communities and the domestic economy.
Yet according to the SME Promotion Office, only one-third of new entrepreneurs can expect to survive after three years of operations. In many cases, budding companies fail to adjust a key marketing 'P' -- price, product, promotion or packaging -- and suffer losses in the marketplace.
