Jan. 1--Foreign-language books continue to gain popularity thanks to improving language skills among Thais and a rising number of expatriates and foreigners in the country.
Punwadee Reechaipichitkool, group product manager of Asia Books, a major foreign-language bookstore chain, said total sales in 2004 rose from a year earlier. Among the best sellers were self-improvement books such as The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness by Stephen Covey, The Present by Spencer Johnson, and How to Have a Beautiful Mind by Edward de Bono.
