1 It seems like yesterday that we were worrying about Y2K. Now the decade's half over. The point? Time is slipping by.
So ask yourself this question: What progress are you making toward long-term goals?
This year, forget frivolous resolutions. Focus on those that will kick-start your career. In short, zero in on results.
Consider a few suggestions. Resolve to:
** Create your own breakthrough. What could you do -- with your talent, experience and contacts -- to vault your career forward? The breakthrough could be a new job, an added role where you are now, or a move to another industry.
** Build a network. Surround yourself with success. Develop relationships -- both in and out of the work place -- in which you give and receive emotional support.
