FDA OKs Pfizer nerve pain drug

Lyrica, which eases sharp pains in the extremities related to diabetes or shingles, will be marketed to about 3 mil U.S. diabetics who will develop nerve damage and an estimated 150,000 shingles sufferers. Pfizer, which is grappling with fall-out from its Celebrex painkiller's raised cardio risks, said the drug's safety was tested with 9,000 patients. Shares fell 0.5% to 26.89.

Congressman probing Lilly docs

The British Medical Journal gave the FDA and Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-N.Y., confidential Eli Lilly documents suggesting a link between the antidepressant Prozac and a risk of suicide attempts and violence.
