Florida State University (FSU), Tallahassee, has announced that Jane B. Robbins, who is retiring from the School of Information Studies, would be succeeded this month by Lawrence C. Dennis. The appointment of Dennis, a physicist, continues a growing trend whereby major universities appoint nonlibrarians to top LIS jobs. Dennis was associate VP for academic affairs and director of the Office of Distributed and Distance Learning at FSU.
