Site-development plans for new Dell manufacturing plant get under way.

Dec. 24--Now that Dell Inc. has made its long-awaited announcement, the hard work begins.

Economic-development officials, as well as Winston-Salem and Forsyth County leaders, are all working to complete site-development plans for Dell's new manufacturing plant in southeast Forsyth County, and a contractor will be selected soon for site grading, officials said yesterday.

Meanwhile, Dell officials are keeping mum about their plans.

The company announced Wednesday that it will open a 500,000 square-foot plant at the Alliance Science and Technology Business Park in the fall.
