My compliments go to THE NEW AMERICAN for the September 6 "Erasing America" special issue. Time and time again this issue has proven its worth in communicating the serious threat to our national sovereignty posed by the planned Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA).
As a member of the Stop the FTAA Committee, I have witnessed the impact this issue has had on ordinary citizens, businessmen, and elected officials. In a recent hour-long, private meeting with a U.S. congressman, our Stop the FTAA Committee showed him the 20-minute video In the Name of Prosperity: The Free Trade Area of the Americas. After the video, the congressman said that although he viewed the video with a critical eye, he found no criticism. He gladly accepted a copy of the "Erasing America" issue along with the book America's Engineered Decline by William Norman Grigg.
