Universal Detection Technology, a developer of monitoring technologies, including bio-terrorism detection devices, has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Sartec Saras Tecnologie Srl, a distributor of environmental monitoring equipment in Italy, western Europe and China.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sartec will be the sole distributor of Universal Detection's Anthrax `smoke' Detector (ASD) in Italy.

Working in collaboration with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Universal Detection said it has developed the ASD based on a chemical identification process created by JPL's Planetary Protection Unit.
