Dec. 17--Southern Community Financial Corp. said yesterday that it has established a management-succession plan with the promotion of Jeff Clark to president of the holding company.

Clark, 40, will continue in his role as president of Southern Community Bank and Trust, in charge of the daily operations of the bank. Scott Bauer, 50, remains chairman and chief executive of the holding company. The executives have been with the bank since it was founded in Winston-Salem in 1996.
