Albuquerque's charter-school movement continues to boom.
The Albuquerque Board of Education has approved eight additional schools, which will bring the total to 35 if they all open as planned in August.
Today's charter-school enrollment is 4,480 students in 21 schools. Six schools were previously approved but have not yet opened; eight were added Wednesday night. Enrollment is projected to leap to approximately 7,000 when all the schools are open.
