PRC can't discipline Baca.(Weekend)

The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission has decided it has no authority to punish Commissioner E. Shirley Baca after her arrest this week on drug possession charges.

But one of Baca's fellow commissioners has called for her to resign.

"All public officials must take responsibility for their own actions and ensure their actions do not erode public perception and confidence in their commission," Commissioner David King, an Alamogordo Republican, wrote Friday in a statement calling on Baca to resign.
