Commission finds that Chinese firms 'dumped' furniture in U.S. market.

Dec. 10--A year-long investigation into the dumping of Chinese wooden-bedroom furniture in the United States concluded yesterday with petitioners claiming victory.

But opponents said that the ruling won't stop low-priced imports from flooding into the domestic market or bring back furniture-manufacturing jobs.

The U.S. International Trade Commission voted 6-0 that it had found evidence that dumping has caused "material injury" to domestic manufacturers of wooden-bedroom furniture. Levies will be assessed against the Chinese companies next month.
