NICE CONFERENCE - NICE unveils costing templates and a system for GPs to nominate review topics.

Implementing NICE guidance is to become easier for primary care organisations (PCOs). The clinical assessment body is to include costing templates in all of its future reports.

The move is intended to improve PCOs' forward planning and implementation, which NICE currently considers disappointing.

However, NICE says the templates are not designed for use at general practice level.

It is hoped that NICE clinical guidelines will include the templates from January, and technology appraisals from April 2005.
