Dec. 9--Winston-Salem is considering offering economic incentives to US Airways Group Inc. as part of a proposal aimed at persuading the bankrupt airline to consolidate its reservation operations in the city.

The airline said on Tuesday that it plans to merge its two reservation centers in either Winston-Salem or Pittsburgh if reservation employees ratify a new contract with wage-and-benefit concessions. Worker votes on the contract would be tallied Dec. 23, with a consolidation decision expected shortly after if the contract is approved.
