Dec. 9--IBM Corp.'s sale of its personal computer business is a historic turning point for the industry, but almost every computer maker is reassessing its role in the evolving PC market.
Lenovo Group Ltd.'s $1.75 billion agreement to buy IBM's pioneering PC business will likely pressure competitors to do something sooner rather than later, industry watchers say.
Many predict other computer companies may soon try to sell off their money-losing PC businesses.
Some might speed up their shift from desktops to everything that connects to them -- music players, flat-screen televisions, voice-over-Internet telephones and other gadgets.
