US Airways to combine Pittsburgh and Winston-Salem, N.C., reservation centers.

Dec. 8--US Airways Group Inc. plans to consolidate its Winston-Salem and Pittsburgh reservation centers if the airline's reservation clerks ratify a new contract with wage-and-benefit concessions.

The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sept. 12, did not say which reservation center it would close.

The Communications Workers of America, the union representing the reservationists, struck a tentative deal last week that called for early retirement buyouts and concessions on wages and benefits. Worker votes on the deal will be tallied Dec. 23.
