A GTO focus group
The Ram Air 6 Concept (Cover Story, Nov. 8) is what GM needs to kick GTO sales into high gear. I can live with the '05 production 400-hp engine if the car looks like the one on the cover. If the Ram Air 6 look is only available in a body kit, it`s a tough choice between that and the Mustang GT with a 3dCarbon kit. With the 'Stang's lower base price you'd have the money for a body kit and some go-fast parts.

So Pontiac is looking for a graceful way out of the GTO mess. Cutting production in year two? How many cars have been resuscitated by this sort of "repositioning''?
GM hoped to sell this car on its name, with nothing to connect it to the past. The 21st century GTO has been "Judged.'' Long live the new Mustang.
