Zach Arnett isn't a novice at this whole being-a-leader-and-captain-for-an-unstoppable-state-championship-team thing.

"He was even one of the biggest leaders on our team last year," said Travis Dekker, a linebacker from La Cueva's 2003 state championship team. "I can't admire a man more than Zach. This year, he set the pace for that team."

Arnett has become the Bears' marrow as an overall leader, and on defense as a linebacker. His offense can be just as poisonous for a foe as his tackling the senior ran for 186 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries Saturday in the state Class 5A championship …
