Thai telecommunications firm increases focus on wholesale mobile handset sales.

Dec. 6--United Distribution Co, a subsidiary of United Communication Industry (Ucom), plans to focus more on the mobile phone handset wholesale business next year, aiming to improve profits and reduce its dependence on sales of refill cards for affiliate DTAC.

The move is in line with the handset wholesaler's business restructuring which is centred on concentrating on high gross margin businesses next year, said Juthamas Bencharongkul, chairwoman of United Distribution, which is branded under UD.
