Davidson County, N.C., keeps Dell incentive offer under wraps.

Dec. 4--Davidson County is trying to keep its incentive offer to Dell Inc., or a potential supplier, close to the vest for as long as possible.

The county Board of Commissioners posted a legal notice for a public hearing in yesterday's edition of The Dispatch, a newspaper in Lexington. The board said it would consider an "economic-development incentive grant contract" for a company considering an operation in Davidson.

Unlike recent legal notices from four government boards involving Dell's plans for a Triad plant, the Davidson commissioners did not list a specific company, any dollar amount for its incentive package or say how it would be …
