Dec. 4--The Revenue Department is planning a new tax package to be considered by the new government, including a proposal to raise the 60,000-baht deduction on personal income tax liability to 100,000 baht.

Satit Rungkasiri, the department's deputy director-general, said tax assessments for casual workers would also be amended.

The law currently states that workers with annual revenues of more than 60,000 baht per year are liable for tax equal to 0.5 percent of their revenues.

Alternatively, they can pay tax based on the personal income tax rate, ranging from 5-37 percent depending on their income. Tax ...
