Dec. 4--Krungthai Card Plc plans to issue up to five billion baht worth of medium-term debentures in the first half of 2005.

KTC president Niwatt Chittalarn said the debt issues would be used to raise funds for business expansion and also fix the company's funding costs.

He said that with interest rates on the upswing, funding costs could increase slightly from the company's current costs of less than 3 percent per year.

KTC, the country's largest credit card issuer, is planning to introduce a number of new credit card and personal credit products next year.
