Dec. 4--GSB TO INVEST IN TPI: The Government Savings Bank will take a strategic shareholding in Thai Petrochemical Industry, according to Suparut Kawatkul, the permanent secretary of the Finance Ministry.

The state-owned bank would join PTT Plc and the Government Pension Fund as investors in TPI. The ministry wants the investors to ultimately hold a majority stake in TPI, with PTT, the country's largest energy company, taking around 30 percent and also overseeing management.

Mr Suparut said the ministry was also reviewing whether the 100-billion-baht, state-supported Vayupak Fund would take a stake in TPI. Details on the new shareholdings would be ...
