Limited Brands' sales, stock fall

The operator of Victoria's Secret, Express and Bath & Bodyworks chains reported same-store sales fell 5% in Nov., well below Wall Street expectations of a 4.6% rise. Net sales also fell 3% to $762.7 mil. Limited Brands said unseasonably warm weather undermined an expected jump in sweater sales, a contention cited by several apparel retailers. Shares fell 2.5% to 23.94.

** Yum Brands' Nov. same-store sales rose 1%, less than expected, but it backed its Q4 forecast of 72 cents a share, citing strong overseas sales. Its KFC chain's Nov. comps fell 7% against views of a 2% drop. Shares fell 1% to 46.45.

** Best Buy's same-store sales rose 3.2% in Q3, near the low end of its forecasts. The electronics retailer backed its profit outlook of 41-47 cents a share for the quarter ended Nov. 27. Shares rose 0.5% to 57.24.

** Finish Line's same-store sales rose 8% in Q3, with 2% coming from Internet sales. The sportswear retailer backed its profit views. Shares fell 2% to 18.34.
