Dec. 3--Siemens has agreed to cut its quoted price for TOT Corporation's telephone expansion project by 1.1 billion baht in cash, to 6.4 billion baht, in line with a request by the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) ministry.

Siemens had earlier proposed to cut its price of 7.5 billion baht to 6.5 billion by offering a cash discount of 600 million baht plus equipment worth 400 million.

However, ICT Minister Surapong Suebwonglee questioned whether the equipment was necessary, adding that TOT had no need to keep so much inventory.
