Dec. 3--For a family business to ensure its own survival and prosperity in today's business environment, the operators must facilitate good governance, make clear the succession rules and properly groom heirs to become effective leaders, top executives say.

It is almost a given in the business community that family businesses do not last beyond the founder's fourth generation. International executives gathered at the CEO Dialogue hosted by Business Week and Thailand Privilege Card in Bangkok yesterday discussed ways to make family businesses last and prosper.
