Dec. 2--Cinema chain giant Major Cineplex Plc is considering a new business concept -- a low-cost theatre with cheaper ticket prices -- as part of its plan to create variety and capture a wider audience.
The ticket price has yet to be finalised but ideally it would be less than 100 baht a seat. Also, movies shown would be different from those screened in other theatres, with more choices.
The venture would involve the creation of a new brand to differentiate it from the existing brands of Major and EGV. The two current brands position themselves as four- and five- star services, depending on locations.
