Dec. 2--Cellular operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) yesterday introduced three "mPay" mobile payment service platforms, enabling postpaid and prepaid subscribers to conduct financial transactions and settle bills through their handsets.
It plans to introduce its second phase of mPay services for provincial markets in the second quarter of next year, while a third phase, which would make the mobile phone the equivalent of a credit or debit card, by the end of 2005.
