Dec. 1--Air traffic to Thailand has begun to surge dramatically, with most airlines reporting insufficient capacity and Thai hotels overbooked.
According to David Lau, general manager of Singapore Airlines in Thailand, inbound flights have been fully booked for most sectors including Europe, Australia and Singapore.
He said the airline had to upgrade to larger aircraft to cope with the increasing demand on some routes including Singapore-Bangkok.
