Dec. 1--With a plan to spend another 145 million baht on holiday promotions in December, Central Department Stores is confident that its sales this year will reach 20 billion baht, a 13 percent increase from last year.
Allan Namchaisiri, the company's senior vice-president for marketing, said sales for the first nine months of the year were up 13 percent year-on-year to 16.5 billion baht, "beyond our expectation".
He attributed the improvement to successful campaigns such as the Central Private Sales and Central International Watch Fair 2004. The watch fair alone generated about 400 million baht, he said.
