Dec. 1----MCOT Plc, the operator of Channel 9 television, posted a 38 percent jump in net profit to 1.05 billion baht for the fiscal year ending Sept 30, driven by its revamped "Modern Nine" programming.
Total sales grew by 42 percent to 2.78 billion baht, the highest in the 27 years since the recently listed company began life as a state enterprise.
Of the total sales, 64 percent came from television, 20 percent from the concession fees for Channel 3 and UBC pay-TV and 15 percent from its radio business.
The company hopes to set a sales record next year, according to MCOT president Mingkwan Sangsuwan.
